| Bio: |  To write a biography on a ninja is nearly an impossible task due to their secrets and ways of living. But one should know that the Naruto ninja’s are not your normal shinobi. Kishimoto-san said himself that their society and structure of military tactics are more based on the elite military units of today, drawing on the old shinobi tactics to give them an interesting contrast of the two together. That said, I must say many of the theories that I follow are ones more based on my and my families own experiences with the Marines and Navy as I know their structure and how operations work. Some of these theories of course will not be correct as only Kishimoto-san knows what he wants out of the characters and storyline that he’s created. But he likes leaving holes for us to wonder and think on. Who knows if we’ll ever get the true answers for all of them. Name: Hatake Kakashi Sex: Male Age: 28 (If one follows the fillers, we know the first chuunin exam happened on July 1st and later on there is an episode that happens 1 year after the first few episodes which happens only a few days before Naruto’s birthday which is on October 10th. If this is correct at the point of the ending of season 1 Kakashi should be around the age of 27 to 28 depending on if a full year happened after those few episodes or not.) Born in a time of wars. At the age of 5, he graduated with a class 4 years his senior, most at age 9 while he was 5. Raidou was one of the other graduates that year. He quickly took the Chuunin exams as soon as he finished completing the minimum required D and C rank missions (minimum requirements: 8 missions and their Jounin leader’s nomination), and was promoted at the age of 6. Not much is know during these years. We know it is not till later that he meets up and forms a team with Rin and Uchiha Obito. Around the age of 7 or 8, Kakashi’s father took his own life, leaving Kakashi with no known relatives and to now and forever fend for himself. This changed his personality to one of dedication, no play, and constantly following the Shinobi rule book. At the age of 12 or 13, Kakashi is promoted to Jounin and made a squad captain of his previous Gennin team. This is the same time that the tragic accident occurs leading to Obito’s death. It was the Uchiha’s first A-rank mission. Again not much is know about the next two years that pass other then the possibility of being involved in 39 different S-rank missions with Minato-sensei as they both have the same number yet Obito had none and only one is known of being commenced during the current series. It could be he even started in Anbu at this point. Not long after Kakashi’s 14th birthday, Minato dies sacrificing himself to seal the Kyuubi. No knowledge of what has happened to Rin is known, but most likely from his statement to Sasuke, she died as well during these years or just after. From here we know Kakashi goes into the Anbu (if not before this event), but there is no way of calculating as to when or for how long. Likewise we can not figure out exactly when he started being available to teach gennin. But we do know that some time before the age of 27, Kakashi had become a gennin instructor. Though he never approved any teams till Team 7 came along, Bringing him to where we know him from the start of the series. Having at some point taking on a personality much more like Obito’s then his own from when he was a kid, often Kakashi is late when the matter is not pressing enough, seen reading mature literature in the middle of the road, and slouching while supposedly watching over his students training. Because of this his students tend to think of him as less effective of a jounin, but over and over again he proves he’s still has the ability to successfully accomplish his missions. During the series the big achievements that we see are: Defeated the Demon Brothers, left them alive. Near Defeat of Zabuza, Killing Haku instead. Faces off with Orochimaru, never fighting though, lucky for him. Facing off with Kabuto, again the enemy got away but he was able to protect his student. Faces off with Itachi, Itachi kind of wins. Is sent on unknown missions till the time jump, though in the anime he is seen trailing and/or helping in some of the Rookie 9’s missions as back up support. …ok so we rarely actually see him killing someone big at this point, but from his behavior and attitude he can do so and just chooses not to deal with the small fries as you might say it. There’s no point in killing or even going after those that are just in the way, wasting chakra and energy on them. Habits: Crosses arms where his right hand is always free to move about the most. (Right over Left) When sitting down, if he folds a leg it’s always the right one first. When sleeping his always shown on his left side or back. Always wears his dog tags. Is rarely ever undressed at all. Even when in hot weather he only wears short sleeves rather then long. The rest of the body is still covered. When wearing shorter sleeves, he never shows the Anbu tattoo in the presence of lower ranking Shinobi. Pushes himself too hard at times to just keep up with the young ones. Landing himself in the hospital time and time again. Likes: Reading, Teasing, His job, Friends, Teamwork, Saury, Miso, Eating healthy, Keeping in shape, Training, The Icha Icha series, Being outside, Princesses dressed in formal garb Dislikes: Loud and noisy, Tempura, Sweets, Waking up in the hospital, Being weak, Being wrong, Loosing, Being mistaken for his father Sharingan: He received if from his rival/friend before he died. The other teammate being a medical-nin having done the transfer. Kakashi was able to use it and even advance it to higher levels. Of course this would not make the Uchiha’s happy as even in their own clan, not all develop the eyes let alone are able to advance it all the way. Kakashi has a knack of taking something and advancing it even further. But there is a drawback. Because he is not of the Uchiha clan, he can not turn the eye’s effect off. Unable to do this, the eye is depleting chakra at all times. Clothes 1st layer: …who knows. Underwear of some sort. I could make a reason for almost any ‘realistic’ kind. But just from watching the others and knowing the military, I guess I’d just go with the idea of boxers/swimwear. But like I said, I could come up with a reason for him not even wearing any underwear….with semi-proof. But lets leave that to the RP. 2nd layer: His under Anbu uniform. Not the paints. Just the shirt part. Black, sleevless and has an attached mask. This is seen in the manga a few times. Mostly after the time skip and when he’s in the hospital. 3rd layer: Jounin uniform. The Jounin issued long sleeve shirt and paints we see him wearing all the time. The shirt for this too has a mask attached. This explains the double masks from episode 101. 4th layer: Jounin vest and wrappings and extras. The Jounin vest does not in fact provide any protection except from the weather. It is more used to carry emergency supplies and allow one easy one-handed access to scrolls. The wrappings mostly seems to be there to help in protection. They both close off the pants so bugs and dirt can’t easily get up under them and also cover the lower portion of the calf and ankles. If wrapped correctly this can sometime add support to the muscles preventing pulls and sprains. The wrapping on the upper right leg is more to prevent the weapons holder placed there from rubbing the pants around causing rub burns/blisters and helps in holding the kit tightly in place on the leg. The kit on the right leg has two small sections. One side holds a kunai while the other holds a set of shuriken. These are at easy access and often the first to be grabbed when a skirmish occurs. Around the waist, a belt holds a slightly larger pouch resting on the back of the left hip. Again located for easy access. This usually holds more kunai and other supplies. For Kakashi’s case, he also carries his current reading book in there. Gloves and Head protector: Surprisingly these seem to be the only two things on him used for armor purposes. Some ninja have a plated chest piece worn under the cloths, but Kakashi does not. The gloves add protection against the environment, but they also include metal plates on their backside, allowing him to block close range strikes with smaller swords and bladed weapons. The Headband not only serves as a symbol for his allegiance, but also to deflect any thrown weapons possibly targeting his head, and for Kakashi’s case the Sharingan eye. It cannot however block a full weighted blade attack, just a skimming one from thrown objects. (Jutsu list will go here) Called the Copy-ninja, the ninja who’s copied over 1000 techniques, we know he must have a huge list of moves at his arsenal. Kakashi has stated that ninja often have one or two nature based chakra, but all have the possibility of learning the simpler ones of other elements. His is Lightning based. One of the rarer nature types and hard to control, but not as rare as Wind. The interesting thing many seem to get confused is, He is not known as the Copy-Ninja just because of the Sharingan eye they he now owns. If this was the only thing needed to allow him to copy so easily, then all Uchiha with Sharingan would have been at his level if not higher cause they would have the stronger chakra stores. For Kakashi, the Sharingan allows him to see very acutely what the enemy is doing with both movements and chakra flow output allowing him to have the time to draw on his knowledge and determine what the enemy is preparing to do early on enough to give him time to quickly counteract and send in his own attack. Doing all this at such speeds has gained him the title of genius. And with these speeds he also has great visual memory. He only needs to see the movements ones and how the chakra is formed and he’s able to learn it on his own with just the minimal amount of practice. This is what earned him the title Copy-Ninja. This is why he is so unique in that feature. (work on and finish the list) ANBU vs Jounin? Most people believe that Kakashi is no longer in Anbu. I kind of go back and forth. I don’t think that one can ever be out of Anbu. But I believe that one could be temporarily retired from it due to age limitations. Anbu have two very specific roles to play. One is to protect the village and Hokage directly when being invaded. The second is to hunt down and eliminate those designated in the Bingo Books that they carry. Any other time they do not go as Anbu, but are rather reduced to being Jounin and given a different name. It could be that Kakashi is just a Jounin for now. But due to the fact that he’s teaching, been in the role of teaching for a while, and he seems to be the oldest known to have been in Anbu so far still living and serving, it’s quit possible that he has been retired from those ranks only to be used if absolutely necessary. To me he seems more valuable as a Jounin at this point. They are able to send him out on missions that are more tuned to his expertise. Along with this, I must state that the Anbu ranks are not that old. For a long time they didn’t have any, being a still new village and all, there was no purpose yet. It was during Kakashi’s life time that the Anbu ranks were first instated. As to weather Kakashi was one of the first or not, nothing is said. Strategies and battles: Kakashi’s skills fall under the more offensive category. This is both due to his nature of chakra and what skills he has learned, being one to act more then wait. In his later years this is now more important as his stamina is not as high as others, he must finish the battle quickly for every minute that it continues is more power to the opponent. To get out of any offensive situations, he relies on his strategic mind to turn the situation into an offensive one. Knowing how the enemy’s mind works, he’s able to twist the obvious around and in using his sharingan he can easily predict what the person’s next move is going to be, using the chance to plot out a counter that turns the situation to his favor and confusing the enemy temporarily to where he can properly attack. He’ll even put himself in harms way to put the enemy into a false sense of power. Another skill of his is his mind alone. Even before he had the sharingan he was able to analyze and break down jutsus at a high degree. But he had to take the time to study and figure out the movement of the chakra on his own. With the sharingan he’s able to see the chakra manipulation allowing his copying technique to be instantaneous, learning within seconds of the person casting it. He’s also able to tell which target to attack and when, allowing his own jutsu, the Raikiri, to become more powerful. Little things: ‘Underneath the underneath’ - It doesn’t mean actually look underneath the subject, battle, actions, or plans…it means to understand and analyze all the visible and possibly hidden information that could be used and learned from. Understand how they correlate and learn how to tell when something is actually hidden. A good example is the bell test. During this test Kakashi laid a bell out as bait to a rope-snag trap. Naruto fell for it. Most say that was the underneath. The fact that he should have known it was a trap. But this was actually the blue prints to a much larger trap that was the exact same setup. It was his way of teaching them how to see. But they still fell into it. In this one Naruto was the bell. The trap was getting the others to show themselves. And they fell for it very easily. Hearing - Left ear rings when loud noises occur nearby due to some damage from when Naruto screamed into the mike so loud. Chakra – Is depleting more rapidly or there is less in his store then when he was younger. Most likely the amount slowly decreases as one ages and with the Sharingan at a more advanced state, it is easy for him to use far too much chakura all at once. Scars: One runs from his left shoulder to right hip across the chest due to the fight with Zabuza. Hands have a few. The scar known over his left eye. These are the definite ones known. Eyesite – The Sharingan’s site is slowly getting worse due to it’s use of higher abilities. Having the two eyes open at the same time can give one a good idea of what is occurring, but can also cause one to start getting headaches and such, especially if one eye is slightly fuzzier. When younger one can compensate for this, but as he’s getting older, it only gets in his way. It’s much easier to look around with just one eye open at a time. Pain – He is getting older and has many serious injuries in his records. At times these can later come back to add pain in the mornings. It wouldn’t be suppressing if Kakashi had some, in his hands especially, in the morning or after a hard day of work. Rivalry – Yes Kakashi and Gai spare a lot. But many seem to forget it was actually Kakashi who suggested Rock-Paper-Scissors due to the fact that he was trying to avoid having a huge battle when he wanted to be somewhere else at that moment. Gai even tried to convince him of something more rigorous. Nindogs - There are 8 dogs in all. We only have the names of two so far. Pakkun (Pug-kun for a young pug) and Buru (Bull for a Bull Mastiff). They can all talk. And so far we know that the Husky-like one seems to like girls a little too much. Orochimaru knew Kakashi before he had the Sharingan and could perform seal techniques. Gai knew Kakashi back when he was younger and acted like Sasuke. Even though Kakashi says big things at times, he doesn’t really have the power to go up against Orochimaru yet. Same with the other Sannin. Kakashi realizes this and knows he’d just be throwing his life away for no reason as he wouldn’t even be able to take down the other with him. I think this is about all for now. There may be more to come. Hope this gives you a clear idea of who he is. Now even with all this said, he will still suprise people by going out of his norm, which in a way is normal to him cause he does it on perpouse.
